Hematite Fan Necklace & Matching Earrings One of a kind by FEM. This is a really a beautiful necklace. Hematite is a black stone with a slivery shine to it. It's a native ferric oxide/ iron ore. I do not know if it's real or man made, supposedly, the difference is the real is heavy. All I know is that you would not want this necklace any heavier than it is. It goes with just about everything. This particular piece really stands out with elegance. Great for all the berry color fashions out this winter. This is one of my favorite necklaces. There are 11 rectangle pieces, the first being slightly over 1 1/8" long to 1/8" wide. The back is done in round barrel shape beads. Half way down they're spaced with a total of 22 silver plated round beads. In the center there are 2 larger hematite round beads, next to the center long one, for balance and design, which you can see in the enlarge pictures.. It's finished off with a sterling claw clasp. Matching earrings, are small, yet large enough to be noticed, but not to detract from the necklace. They each have one barrel and one round bead with two silver heishe beads, and finished off with a sterling french hook with coil ear wire. FEM always make matching earrings, due to the fact when you buy a necklace, it seems to take for ever to find those ear rings to match. And hematite is not really common on the market. And yet I notice it's being bought more now. |
