Green Brass Delight,
Choker Necklace and Earrings

    I have no idea the age of this piece. It is signed, so those collectors out there, probably know. On the back of the large center piece it's marked "Original by Robert" on a tiny little brass shape paint palette. I'd roughly guess around the 1940's, although the style says the 20's. I love to hear who has knowledge of it ? Excuse the lay out my scan, it's to be around the neck, which left it hard to scan.

     We'll start with the center piece which is made of brass, as the whole piece is. The center has a bronze (brown) antiquing to it , whereas the 4 space separators are with blacking antiquing. The center is flowers and scroll work with 7 green stones (?), have no idea what they are made of, maybe celluloid. Then there are 4 tear drop stones, with 3 more dangling from the center.

     When you leave the center there are 6 brass chains on both sides. The first spacer bars probably would fit on the side of your neck, whereas the last 2 would be near the back. Each spacer is with flower and scroll work design and with a round green stone in the center of each.

     At the end there's a hook and at the other end a chain to adjust to your comfort with a stone on the end of that.

     Now of course there are no earrings, so I was lucky and had some green aventurines stones that matched well with this piece. I made the ear rings with 3 aventurines round stones on each, with two brass antiqued blacken bead caps, 2 gold plated, (G.P.) beads and finished them off with the old style G.P. French ear wire with coil and bead.

Note:  I have done nothing to this piece, including cleaning it.  I don't know if it still has a protected coat on it or not, so I decided to let the buyer decide. It seems to be in great condition with no repair needed. Although, I did notice there is one prong missing in the center on one of the tear drops, but the stone doesn't even seem loose.

Measurements:  The necklace measures 11-1/2", (not including the hook or adjustable chain). The adjustable end chain is 3-1/6" long. Should fit most women. The center piece from top to the end of the tear drop is 2-1/8 high. Spacer bars are 1-1/4" high. Ear rings are1-1/4" long, (not including ear wires).
