* Vintage Black Cloisonné Necklace This is a very nice old vintage black glass and cloisonné necklace that I think would look striking on a re-enactor doing a morning image. Yes, cloisonné exit and was worn, mainly by the older women of those times. I'm not sure when this was made. But, probably during one of the art periods, (1935- 1945) due to the fact, how you see it, is how it is worn, off center. I think that's why I really like this, it's artistic. It's made with black glass beads, with a few here and there, gold color smaller beads. Their are two smaller oval cloisonné beads as you can see, with three good size round, yet convex shape beads, near the bottom. Their main colors are rust, royal blue and shades of green on a black background. their hand strung on black silk thread, with a gold color spring clasp. I have not worn this, so I don't know how it shifts when worn. You can wear it on either side, due to the fact the design on the beads is the same on each. They have a blue border trim, which adds to the over all looks. The black glass beads, seem to be in excellent condition, whereas the cloisonné beads look like this necklace was well worn and loved, and yet seems to add to it's character. I would of liked to have known who had worn this. Measurements: The necklace measures 22- 1/2" long. The larger bead is 7/8" in diameter. |
