Elephant Walk Bone Necklace

     I call this necklace after the movie, Elephant Walk, since that's what reminds me of.

     My son thinks it's ivory, yet I think it's made of bone and is sold as bone. I think these were popular in the 1940's &/ or 1950's.

     In very good condition, except for the thread, it was strung with, which was worn out. I restrung it in silk beading thread, as most jade necklace are done in, for strength and to last another couple of generations.

     The pendant you can barely make out in the scan, which is carved bone in the shape of a tear drop, design with an elephant in the center. Flat back for comfort.

     The chain portion is made with carved round bone beads and 10 carved 3-D elephants standing on a patch of ground in walking position. Then finished off with bone carved screw on bead closure.

Measures;  Approx. 19" long. Pendant is approx. 2" long.
